Making new connections …
Our new writing model starts with a callout posted here and on all our social media, and then shared by BBC Writer’s Room, London’s Playwright Blog and many more. Responses to our callouts continue to be overwhelming, with an average of over 300 scripts, 50 director applications and 100 actors getting in touch.
We carefully read scripts, pick our favourites and create teams connecting playwrights to a director and a cast of actors. In pre-Covid times, we host a read-through downstairs at the Finborough where groups meet and hear each other’s plays read out loud. Now, we move into the virtual space via Zoom.
